While the 6 above flowers all offer beautiful colors for shade gardens there are also other options available.  Azaleas, Columbines and Periwinkles offer different variations then those listed above. There are several different types of Hydrangeas (Zones 3-9) and Astilbes (Zones 4-9) that flourish in shaded conditions. You can also try Double Knockout Rose (Zones 4-9), Fireworks Rodgersia (Zones 5-8), Lenten Rose (Zones 5-9), Snowdrop Anemone (Zones 2-9), Jacob’s Ladder (Zones 4-8) and Lily of The Valley (Zones 2-7 – This Plant Is Poisonous).
